wonderful characterization. i wish every "minor" person i meet in my life would get an amélie style introduction. amélie likes to see the minute details other people miss, and this film makes me love little things as she does.
i personally find it impossible to dislike anything in this flick. a movie that urges me to like people.
god, there's something really strange and a little off-putting about the way the characters look in this. i don't know if i can exactly say that it's fully in the uncanny valley, but it's at the very least in an uncanny ditch. however! everything that's not the faces of the characters looks pretty neat! there's a lot of incredibly excellent transitions and matching in its crosscutting, and some of the more actiony segments look incredibly impressive.
