I never took Disney's live-actions seriously before Pirates of the Caribbean, but this movie is convincing me otherwise (who would have thought that Charlie Harper, Jack Bauer, Robin and Pennywise would be in the same production?)

Its greatest quality is the "sarcastic characters in the middle of action scenes" formula, which has been present since that time. On the other hand, Milady, Constance and the queen bother me because of their unfairly irrelevant presence.

In the end, it does its job of entertaining the masses well (and don't expect anything less).

Today I understand some of the movie's flaws as an adaptation: the lack of focus on Robin's talent with a bow, Russell Crowe's physical appearance, the character's childhood that adds little to his personality...

The thing is this movie was my first direct contact with the legend, and it soon became my reference for it 😁 I'm glad I didn't hate it after so many years without touching the DVD.

IT'S... FUCKING... OVERRATED!!!

Imagine Blade Runner but switching from sci-fi to supernatural.

It's amazing how I stayed in the couch for 1h20 without predicting what would happen in this bodyguards thriller, whose mission is to protect an VIP that will renew a peace agreement between the human and demon worlds.

The design of monsters is scary as it should be, there's a rape that made me a little uncomfortable (80's, duh) and the plot twist at the end left me confused, but then happy.

P.S: It seems that the movie was based on one book of three and I would very much like to know what wasn't adapted, unfortunately.
