funny as usual, maybe not as much as some of his older stuff but he’s still got it i think. the last 30 mins felt a little bit like “old man yells at could” so it lost me a little, but was still very solid overall and surprisingly introspective

damn. one of those movies where the more you think about it, the sadder you get. the way the colorful shots contrast with the reality of what is going on is just genius. and moonee’s acting is genuinely some of the greatest i’ve ever seen from a six year old.

The Holdovers 2023
nothing negative to say about this movie. got better with each act, turned into a fun christmas comedy to an emotionally layered story about 3 people finding new family in their surroundings after experiencing tragic pasts. the performances made you feel such deep empathy for each character even in the moments without dialogue, in a way that a lot of actors cannot achieve.
gave me dead poets society vibes, with a little more focus on the comedy (multiple laugh out loud moments) and of course christmas spirit. will definitely be rewatching every christmas.Translated from by
