  A visionary take on the dark side of Bombay.

  Oh, the dirty streets with beggars gallivanting each neighborhood, the inevitable rise of small time goons, life in & around the brothels of Kamathipura, and the influence on today's kids caught in the act.

  A masterclass too ahead of its time. Mira Nair bravely portrays the real bombay of early 1980s being short on technical resources but with plentiful cinematic substance.

  Just came out of the theater with a pounding heart and nothing but voices in my head. Oppenheimer makes you go numb, given the technical aspects (dangerously loud but brilliant sound effects) involved and plus its psychological element keeps you pondering. One example you have over here!
