A visionary take on the dark side of Bombay.
Oh, the dirty streets with beggars gallivanting each neighborhood, the inevitable rise of small time goons, life in & around the brothels of Kamathipura, and the influence on today's kids caught in the act.
A masterclass too ahead of its time. Mira Nair bravely portrays the real bombay of early 1980s being short on technical resources but with plentiful cinematic substance.
