I’ll never understand those who rate Grand Budapest Hotel over this masterpiece. Along with Rushmore, TRT is the most grounded of his films that has the heart that Anderson’s recent films simply lack. Those small glimpses of intimacy we get, whether it’s the bus stop scene, Needle in the hay or the tent scene between Paltrow and Luke Wilson’s characters, are what truly made Wes Anderson an all time great. Now he’s almost a parody of himself who prioritises style…

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish 2022
Probably the only time where I’ve legitimately felt intimidated and a bit scared in a kids movie is when Puss’s life flashes before his eyes. One of the best depictions of a panic attack I’ve seen in any film period. Death was a fantastic villain (who isn’t really a villain when you think about it) who’s presence was always felt.
The goldilocks arc was predictable, but I don’t mind that as long as the execution is right. They nailed that aspect. Mulaney probably had the best one liners throughout the movie too, just an overall great supporting cast.
