really liked a lot of it, especially the parts on the set of the movie, mika was so well-written and sandra gullet’s performance was a highlight. everything else was sort of underwhelming. just bunch of stuff i feel i’ve seen before, nothing new.

Coma 2022
really loved the mix of styles here. feel like it did such a good job at exploring the inner psyche of a person. felt like a weird, mad, intimate portrait. didn’t love the way the patricia coma parts were filmed and sometimes the dialogue felt a little stiff, but that might’ve been an intentional choice. definitely a weird one.

what a slog. beautiful cinematography weighted down by an awful, mess of a story. felt like an oscar movie mad libs. so full of itself at times it felt unwatchable, filled with meandering storylines that go absolutely nowhere. no heart at all. felt like corbet was making something solely for the sake of the praise he knew he would get. you can argue that that’s the point of the film, but it doesn’t make it good.
