Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds 2023
Rounding out my animated-film catchup for the year. I was super excited for this one and the visuals were peak but I wish it had given a bit more to chew on with the plot or at least the thematics. The slower, bedtime story pacing wasn't bad, though. I was getting big "the unholy love child between Yellow Submarine and Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle" so I'm not surprised to find out those were all inspirations. A worthwhile film to zone out and get wrapped up in. I'm always weak to the "transported to a nonsensical fantastical world" genre.
