Has nothing new to say with this story, but really well made. I loved Eggers’ trick where he moves the camera through a threshold prior to the character entering, pulling the viewer as via vampire hypnosis, sometimes augmented by cutting geography between the start and end of the camera move. He’s good at movies!
I’m not sure Eggers is attempting to communicate anything with this — and it’s a problematic aspect of vampire mythology stemming from xenophobia (bad!) as compared…
