Such an absolutely beautiful and incredibly sad movie! It's so heavy to think that it was released in 1940 and that there was still 5 years of the war remaining. AND people were not yet aware of the horrific atrocities of the concentration camps. Charles Chaplin's final speech is one of the most potent and raw speeches that I have ever heard.

Inherent Vice 2014
The director totally distorted Pynchon's phenomenal book. The book was a nostalgic account of the end of the 60s. This was a depressing movie with pathetic characters. The soundtrack didn't even include any music from the 60s. 10/10 would never watch again! Read the book it's 100x better.
