Blooming visuals and beautifully crafted picture of the human condition framed by not-human (w just the right amount of silly), Ghibli strikes again. I will say, this was maybe not the film for me personally, but goddamn do I recognize genuine love and enchantment, and I think any kid watching this will want that magic. Dropped a star for the narrative flow being a little choppy, but not sure to chalk that up to translation or Miyazaki floating away artistically.
