The Mummy 1999
Some Fridays you just wanna curl up with your wife and puppy, and watch a silly ol’ movie about a swashbuckling husband and his charming wife, whose name rhymes with your own wife.
Still charmed by this badly special fxd, poorly aged, yet charmingly played by the two leads.

How dare I not watch the entire film, and rate a Cary Grant film, less than a 4!
The second half of this film, surely makes a turnaround. My wife watched it spellbound, as ludicrous as the script may be, the chemistry between Grant and Bergman is enough to chase away any semblance of brain cells trying to make an argument.
Plus, there’s always a charming dance from Grant that knocks you back, reminding you of his vaudeville roots. And no one plays cutesy insecure, as cutesy as Bergman.
A cute couple. Silly, but it takes two to tango.

I am a sucker for Cary Grant doing slapstick, and what a hoot this is.
I am LOL'ing by myself, watching this on my iPad, and swearing I'm gunna see this again with my wife.
How did I miss the Cary Grant train all these years of my life!

The Brutalist 2024
We’ve gotten to the intermission and plan to finish it this Sunday, but I haven’t seen an American film about America since “The Godfather” this good. “The Master” also comes to mind, but it’s the tiny details that writer-director revel in that makes this different and singular.
What struck me the most on first glance:
- Incredible casting from Brody to Pearce, to everyone else in the cast and that’s usually a huge kudos to the director
- Background score:…Translated from by
