  Mayhem functions more as a comedy to me than an action or horror movie. It is very over the top and on the nose but the lack of subtlety is its charm. The first act setting up the structure of the company, its characters, and the building is well executed. (Also the editing on the opening elevator sequence showed the passage of time perfectly.)   Things is an entire beast unto itself. People say Texas chainsaw massacre is the first movie directed by a madman. Things feels like the first movie not directed by a human. It's not cold or evil feeling. Things is alien in the feeling that no one who was human was involved in making it. It is unbelievably bad and inept. Every decision that could be made wrong was made and done worse than expected.

  So Things is bad. Yet Things is uniquely bad. There is bad filmmaking, lazy filmmaking, but you will never experience anything quite like Things.
