A fantastic piece of animation with much room for interpretation both in the sphere of revolutionary and reactionary thought when placed in the context of it's times.

The most 5/10 movie I've ever watched. This will be by benchmark from now on.
Giving a physical form to the thing that torments the characters rips the essence out of what was an extremely good cosmic horror up until that point. Extremely aesthetically pleasing though and despite an ending that feels like it uproots what the film is based on still an extremely pleasant watch and re-watch. I didn't like it as much on my 2nd time around but it's still an all time favourite solely because of the appearance and the creativity to the scares. Successfully subverts your expectations in a way that don't feel "cheaty", just interesting.
I'm not a big fan of how much I related to this, regardless of how corny that is it actually fucking sucks the parallels I end up drawing. It's good though
