    Coherence

    ★★★★½

Coherence is a master example of how to achieve a gripping multiverse story on a close-to-no budget.

The film centres on eight friends who gather for a dinner party on a night that an astronomical anomaly occurs - triggering a chain of reality bending events.

The story is ambitious but it doesn’t crumble under it’s twists and turns. I recommend Coherence for any sci-fi fans who enjoy a bit  more thought and complexity to their films.
It feels like a first time Christopher Nolan feature.

It’s been a long time since I was as pleasantly surprised by a film as I was by this first instalment in Richard Linklater’s romance trilogy.

I’m not a fan of most films that are light on plot and heavy on dialogue. Therefore going into ‘Before Sunset’, having watched only one Richard Linklater film in the past (Boyhood) and not enjoyed it, I was fully prepared to be yawning after 15 minutes of this conversational romance. And oh boy was…
