Samara Weaving covered in blood is how most horror comedies should end quite honestly. The only problem with Borderline is that doesn't quite happen.
I was very much enjoying the unhinged performance from Ray Nicholson and Alba Baptista as they held Weaving hostage. However a little like Cocaine Bear, Jimmy Warden couldn't quite stick the landing in his directorial debut. The ending didn't quite go hard enough although I kind of understood why that was the case.
There's still a lot of fun to be had here though especially if like me you're a fan of the Samara Weaving final girl genre.
Josh Hartnett high on drugs, wielding a chainsaw and spraying bad guy blood all over economy on an airplane is exactly what I want from an action movie in 2025!
Having already played a serial killer recently it comes as a surprise that he's even more unhinged in this violent caper which will no doubt get compared to the likes of Boy Kills World and Bullet Train. It's much funnier than the latter.

Scott Adkins is the greatest modern day action star going and it's not even close. He is stacking up a collection of action movies to rival any big name. What he and James Nunn have accomplished here and with One Shot previously should not be taken for granted.

There are two movies in recent memory where I walked out of the cinema in pure amazement, having to pick my jaw up off the floor, Top Gun Maverick and The Raid 2. Now there's John Wick 4.
