I loved this movie, but was left scared of its intent.
A young woman is interrogated by police, her face cut off by the top of the frame. The film cuts to a wide, and we see she is covering her eyes. We are removed from the scene in the same way the woman is attempting to be. Losing her place within the tragedy she is being questioned about.

This was a ton fun but man some of these jokes build up to nothing. The characters are fascinating and I love the deliveries of this dialogue. Billy losing his mind and being obsessed with the monkey was so interesting.

I have an unbelievable amount of thoughts surrounding how they adapted the Count in this movie, especially regarding his own characterization as a “hunger”, and the association with the black plague when he enters the town on ship.
The unfathomable and dreamlike existence of this creature is something I haven’t felt in any adaptation until now, this idea that the things a vampire represents are so intrinsic to his existence and his threat. He is not this unnatural undead man…
