Seven Brides for Seven Brothers 1954
I genuinely love this movie. Is it outdated? yes. while the ideals and notions are strange and rather insulting, i am able to separate that from the artistry of this film. The dancing scenes are frozen in time yet transcendent. The choreography, the chemistry and the symmetry between partners echoes the amount of hard work and effort put into making it. It’s a very cozy movie, only acceptable to watch under a blanket and during the monotony of winter. As a dancer, it is hard for me to sit still while watching because all of the dancing scenes are so joyful and infectious.

This is so cutesy! I like the Italian charm and scenery in New York. It was really interesting to see Ronny’s character growth from an angry, aggressive and lowkey scary dude, to a kind, loving and romantic fella. the only thing i thought to be funny/impractical was how easily Johnny broke the news to Loretta and how they were both unbothered by it. Especially after his brother proposed to his ex-fiancé right in front of him. He didn’t seem upset at all about the obvious affair that had been going on. hahah! good movie!!
