  softly liked this; it’s no Parasite, in tone or quality, and of course it doesn’t need to be, but I still walked out slightly disappointed. The ideas here are technically interesting but never seem to totally coalesce. It’s tough to put my finger on it. Pattinson is absolutely superb, and Ruffalo and Collette are predictably terrific, but their characters are exhausting and not in a good way. Just not sure it all works!

  I still find parts of this to be overwritten and a little awkward, particularly towards the final third. Cooper’s love for Murph being “quantifiable” is still nonsense and even kind of works against the film’s idea that love is powerful as a force but can’t really be explained in terms of its utility, but I can’t help but be moved by this film. What I used to read as Christopher Nolan’s saccharine tendencies I am now seeing as simply genuine…
