  You know when the jacket comes off halfway through the movie and gets draped over you like a blanket that you’re dealing with some scary shit.

  Watched probably 2/3 of this through my fingers while chewing on my own collar to try and keep myself from shouting during the jumpscares. In other words, HELL YEAH. I loved every second of Oddity.

  Is it a perfect movie? No. But it’s a great time, feels fresh, and is incredibly creepy. Easily my favorite horror film this year so far.

  Nosferatu 2024

  I mean come on. 😮‍💨

  Finishing a read of Dracula, watching Murnau’s Nosferatu (1922), and seeing this fantastic reimagining in the theater all within a day was one of my favorite things I did in 2024.

  Thinking about folklore, women’s liberation, the deepest desires of the heart, bodily autonomy, and the spectral hands of religious belief and scientific discovery in the wake of this story. There’s so much here, and the feeling is all appetite and dread in equal measure. I never wanted it to end.
