Huge horror fan and film student
IMAX was created specifically so I could watch 20-foot tall Toni Collette act her ass off
Squanders an interesting premise with a surface level treatment of its subject matter and a repetitive execution. It uses dementia as a vessel for themes about cinema as a capsule of memory and identity but fails to explore any of its ideas with real depth.
Side rant: I’m also confused on how this has anything to do with our gender and sexuality class. It’s been such a frustrating, limited curriculum, and this might be the worst offender. I hold nothing against this movie, though. I just don’t like it.

It’s just as messy as Okja, but its emotional core didn’t hit nearly as hard. Some of the broader commentary feels a bit underbaked, like the ties between mega-churches and their political influence, while other themes felt more realized, like self-identity and grappling with the extremes within oneself.
Robert Pattinson and Naomi Ackie are both fantastic and ground the movie among the film’s broader characters and performances. The creatures, as per Bong tradition,…
I loved Possessor, so this comparatively messy, sparse, surface-level film was a bit disappointing. It feels like it doesn’t have much to say, so it injects a hazy atmosphere and some insanely edited sequences to fill the gaps. I think Brandon Cronenberg still has the juice, but this wasn’t the project to showcase it.
