First up I am a fantasy nut and love swords and sci-fi - so when I saw the previews for this I was like yeah! My girlfriend however was like - whaaaat? You want to see that? Anyway all that aside I had little expectations and was worried that the racoon would fall flat - but far from that he was probably the best character. The effects are that convincing and there are moments of sadness, hilarity, action and amazement. Well worth it. Recommended.

One thing first up about this film, seeing it in 3D Vmax I think was how stunning it looked - really walking deep in the uncanny valley. And that is saying something as the character design is creative and unconventional - but the objects in the film are lit beautifully. I was often amazed just at things like how real the textures or reflections were. So real. And yet not at all. The movie has as per the first one a good selection of laughs for all ages throughout the movie.

Another of top films, number one in the Manga Genre and fighting for top film of all time in my book. An incredible achievement in animation, audio and story telling that has been reverered, emulated, copied and had many a homage in later cinema.

This film was creepy from the first ominous deep horn like soundtrack. A good film noir feeling on this period murder mystery that gets completely twisted with a not unexpected twist. That did not spoil it for me. Nor did the slightly overacted period-ness of it. A great film.
