  Oof, pretty terrible (especially CGM) but not without its charms: Chris and Tommy are both well cast and the opening scene escalation actually feels a little more believable than in DePalma’s. I also think the massacre at the end felt a lot more tasteless in this version - Carrie comes across like a school shooter here (good) yet the film still needs to film the massacre as sort of badass and cathartic. That tension exists in every version but felt borderline gross in this one

  Oof, big disappointment. Cringey exposition, pedestrian dialogue, cloying melodrama, boring characters, gaping plot holes, groan inducing call backs; adds absolutely nothing new to the franchise but it does look pretty good and I wasn’t bored
