Yikes.
Not nearly as funny or incisive as I would expect. Borderline unwatchable at parts (mostly Mark). Screenplay was…rough. But boy oh boy Robert Pattinson got me gal.

1.5-2 stars for the good movie that is lurking somewhere within (admittedly I kind of loved parts of some of the musical sequences). Would probably dislike it a tad less if it weren’t nominated for 13 Oscars, admittedly…and if Selena Gomez weren’t in it, and if the script underwent a complete re-write, and if they cared to actually explore the complexity of trans identity, and if they actually involved idk people from Mexico in the movie?
