  I can finally add this film to the long list of what I call the Apatow-Segel-Hill-Rogen-universe. I was very curious about this one because for some reason I heard that this should be one of the socially more acceptable movies. And I had a joyous time with it truly. The dick humor doesn't quite resonate with me the same way anymore, but I find those movies to have more heart and especially - you can feel it through the actors - more fun than other 2000s romcoms that went the more serious route (or the Adam Sandler universe).

  Now, this is more surprising to me than to anyone, but suddenly, I feel the urge to defend a German film. While I rarely watch these films, I still very much enjoyed "Freibad" and was entertained fairly well. Yet, Letterboxed comments depict this as sexist, racist, and the beginning of the end of the German film.

  Which I can only explain like this. Letterboxd-Germans (myself included) feel very comfortable in their role as cineasts and favor international movies more often…
