This is specifically in reference to the director’s cut, I haven’t seen the theatrical cut in almost twenty years.
This movie is so much better than its reputation. It does have problems, there’s so doubt about that. The main one being it’s tonally inconsistent. It doesn’t know if it wants to be a dark and gritty adaptation of the Frank Miller comic run, or a fun, goofy Raimi-esque movie. It’s kinda in the middle. The one liners, weird action sequences…
