a film truly made for me: ingrid bergman (loml) discovering class consciousness AND giulietta masina is in it. sinead o'connor's quote "it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society" came to mind many times. ingrid's character has some of the most brilliant lines i've ever seen in film, rossellini and co are geniuses for this. it was purely coincidental but watching the virgin suicides immediately before this was a perfect pairing. without a doubt one of my favorite movies i've ever seen.
