this was playing as part of a retrospective season a local cinema is doing. i liked it a lot. felt a bit long in places.
this wasn't a feature of my childhood Christmas so I've only seen it a couple of times and it was nice to get to see it in the cinema.
I feel it commits to it's idea and sees it through- it's vaguely gory in places and people actually die. a few of the scenes go on a little too long (the bar and cinema ensemble bits) and could be reduced without losing much.
