I thought at first Trier also did The Celebration - turns out that was Vinterburg. Still, the founders of dogma seem to really love depicting an awful wedding
A great, well paced and anxiety inducing film - incredible how gripping the second half is with such still, quiet scenes.
Bonus - Stars and I experienced our first LA earthquake right around the moment the characters realize the planet is coming back - we were on edge to say the least
Stunning - found myself hypnotized throughout. Brilliant and tasteful use of mixed media and archival footage to contextualize and ground the story. Loved it

I wasn't a huge fan of this film's premise from the start, and perhaps with the recent global events (Israel/Iran and the renewed possibility of world war knocking) the timing hasn't helped. But I didn't leave the theatre feeling much better about it.
The film is so apolitical that you really have no idea which side of the political spectrum is in control - which is by design, I'm sure. But i can't help but wonder if democrats watched this…
