By Design 2025
I’ve chosen to make my grand, much-hyped, long-awaited return to this app to say something about this movie. Which I just saw. And loved. Brilliant on every level. Amanda Kramer is definitely no longer in the ‘one to watch’ category. She is a full on badass radical filmmaker whose work everyone should seek out and soak up.
Also of note— AK somehow CONTINUES to get THE BEST female performances from her lead actresses. First, Andrea Riseborough in Please Baby Please.…

Bunny Lake Is Missing 1965
So good that it made me return to Letterboxd to make this statement about how good it is.
By far Preminger’s best film— and I love Where The Sidewalk Ends.
Olivier, Dullea, Coward, and Lynley are all outstanding. Can honestly say I have always — ALWAYSSSSSS — thought Olivier was overrated / weirdly agreed-upon as ‘one of the greats’ just because of his legendary Shakespeare chops. Turns out I just prefer him old (and thus much less froofy)!
