Unstoppable 2010
Saw this at the cinemas upon release in 2010. Still impresses me that Tony Scott could turn almost anything into a thrilling action story. Even when there's really no villain, he somehow makes the train itself this menacing, hulking, all-powerful figure that is, well.... unstoppable!

Less a slasher horror (as the marketing may have you believe) and more a psychological horror. Mia Goth’s excellent performance, the old-school 70s filmmaking energy and minimalist approach all contribute to a strong and memorable study of desire, repression and unchecked killer ambition.
Shot in New Zealand, it feels more like a properly polished indie thriller than a big budget studio production. Feels original enough while also paying homage to films and cultures of the past. The 1918 production design is pretty cool too!
