    Black Bag

    ★★½

Black Bag is what I'd imagine you'd get if David Fincher decided to create a Nick and Nora Charles mystery.
And in a world that seems preoccupied with telling stories of marriages splintering apart, it's nice to see a film about marital secrets that doesn't feel the need to subvert the genre by having the happy couple loathe one another.
But juxtaposing the secrets of married life with the secrets of covert organizations isn't a new idea. We've seen plenty…

    The Alto Knights

    ★½

The Alto Knights is a crime drama where nothing entertaining occurs.
It feels more like a documentary on the History Channel than a gangster picture.
Like if a made-for-TV movie paid poor homage to Scorsese.

I don't know what they did with this film. It got pushed back from its original release date, which I suppose…

    The Dark Knight

    ★★★★★

Today I went to my local cinema and bought a ticket for The Dark Knight, and recognized that once again, even thought I'd be watching it for the umpteenth time, I was excited to see it. Even though I knew every scene, every character, and every glorious shot, I still felt glee when I thought of seeing it again.

I was too young of a boy to see it in its original theatrical run, so my only interaction with the…
