  Every school needs a Carl. 

  Hey much of this movie holds up and is still funny and poignant! Then some of the script feels like it was written by someone in their 40s trying to imagine what a teenager would say. Still I love coming back to this one.

  This was my wife’s first time seeing Rocky. She doesn’t love sports movies, and she didn’t love this one. But it gets better to me every time I see it.

  I came into this movie about 15 minutes in and it hooked me immediately. Didn’t know what it was but I had a feeling it was Mike Leigh, and I was right! Man, Tim Roth is incredible in this one. Leigh has a way of getting phenomenal performances out of his actors. He can also just prop a camera up in front of a washing machine or a hallway for a long take and they’re two of the coolest scenes in the movie.
