Loved the score, loved the atmosphere, but I think I was expecting something that hewed a little closer to the source material. It’s hard to distill the book into something of this length, and I don’t feel any differently having seen this. Maybe the Southern Reach books would be better served by a miniseries?

Super fun, but I wish they would’ve gone deeper both in terms of world events and the makeup of the team/contributions of other team members besides the big names (Tayshaun Prince comes to mind as someone who got short shrift here)

Kind of felt like a turducken of a horror movie … there’s at least three distinct narratives stuffed into each other. Thom York’s score was baffling. I like the breathy and Philip Glass-y stuff but the stuff that sounds like Radiohead didn’t work for me.
I’m not really sure what I just watched, but it was really pretty and really gruesome?
