    I knew this would be a film for me as soon as the opening courtroom scene ended. Absolute amazing oner. 

    Red Rooms certainly leaves us with more questions than answers (specifically regarding our protagonist’s motives) but this doesn’t take away from the main point the film is trying to make. Evil exists everywhere.

    Saw this last night as part of the Montclair Film Festival and was blown away. 

    Crazy and disappointing that this is my first Sean Baker film, but also exciting that I have a solid backlog to fill in now.

    Mikey Madison shines as Anora - or Annie as she prefers - delivering a performance that is certainly deserving of recognition. 

    The 140 minute runtime was a bit intimidating especially given the rickety chair I was expected to plant myself in, but Anora flys by with laughs, thrills and some genuinely thought provoking moments.

    I see a lot of discourse around this film that focuses mainly on what people aren’t understanding about Civil War. Blurred political lines, is this pro-journalist, is this anti-journalist, who’s fighting who? Headlines are popping up everywhere insulting the intelligence of those who don’t agree with an “interpretation”, and others touting the film as a propaganda piece.
