I was expecting to like this one much more than I did. Hugh Grant really nails this role and Sophie Thatcher is definitely on my radar now.

I usually love when films lean into some crazy shit and even go full gonzo but something felt off about Heretic. The moment they entered the basement the dynamic of the movie completely shifted and I found myself ironically losing all sense of dread and anxiety.

I knew this would be a film for me as soon as the opening courtroom scene ended. Absolute amazing oner.

Red Rooms certainly leaves us with more questions than answers (specifically regarding our protagonist’s motives) but this doesn’t take away from the main point the film is trying to make. Evil exists everywhere.

Blurred political lines, is this pro-journalist, is this anti-journalist, who’s fighting who? Headlines are popping up everywhere insulting the intelligence of those who don’t agree with an “interpretation”, and others touting the film as a propaganda piece.

This is the “journalism” of today’s America, and what Garland is attempting to draw attention too. He asks these questions - What is…
