somehow i feel like i know less about bob dylan after watching this movie than before. it tells you absolutely nothing about who he is as a person and details about his life and relationships besides what you could read on wikipedia in less than a minute.

green explosions and inventive, frenetic action.

the plot, acting and editing can be pretty terrible. the editing especially makes it hard to understand what’s going on during the fast paced action scenes, causing unclear understanding of the locations and geography of characters in relation to their environment and threat. However, the rapid action scenes and camera movements are bat shit crazy and truly a sight to behold, mainly because of how unique it is compared to modern day action films. The action is fun, inventive and well choreographed.

Just watch it for the action and cringeworthy everything else. 4 stars.

what a strange movie. most things about the narrative just doesn’t work for me. i found it to be unsatisfying, the characters underdeveloped and lacking in substance. however, i still love this film as i feel like i felt exactly what gus van sant wanted me to feel.

the film is dripping with style. everything in this film works to compliment each other, from its cinematography, acting, mis-en-scene and music. i felt empty and hollow after this film, and i…

i didn’t understand this film at all which was made worse by the fact that half the times the characters speak they don’t speak clearly or they mumble, whisper or have some dumb russian accent. how the fuck am i supposed to understand the plot when I CANT HEAR THE DIALOGUE?? maybe it’s my hearing or the cinema’s speakers but i could understand the adverts fine.

the film was well directed tho and i loved the action. i was never bored though which is more than what i can say for most films i didn’t understand.
