Bong Joon Ho’s follow up to his career defining, award winning Parasite is another crack at high concept science fiction. The premise of Mickey 17 was fantastic and was utilized well as the focal point to flesh out a unique futuristic vision. Robert Pattinson is great in the role(s) and the majority of the characters are really fun to watch with all their eccentricities.

I had a wonderful time in the first half, but the narrative shift halfway through really threw me.…

    Saturday Night

    ★★★★

A little too self-congratulatory at times, but overall Saturday Night’s frantic look at the 90 minute lead up to its first episode was a great watch. It’s jazz-like assembly of fun, nostalgic performances, smooth cinematography, and chaotic moments make this a must see for fans of the show and its history. If you don’t know or care much about the show, though, that will translate to how much enjoyment you have with the movie. Luckily, I am a big fan.

I like the premise a lot and as a whole this works fine for a kids movie, but I do think there could’ve been stronger jokes across the board. It’s not that fun of a watch now that I’m older.

    Bridget Jones's Diary

    ★★★★

I’m usually not a huge fan of romantic comedies, but this has to be one of the best I’ve ever seen. The amount of fun that translates from the screen to the viewer is palpable. I adore the playful script, Sharon Maguire’s brilliant direction shines, and the endearing performances from this awesome cast make this instantly likable and very rewatchable. I highly recommend.

    I Still Believe

Better than the average Christian movie. One of the only of its kind to actually craft something competent and occasionally beautiful on a technical level. But the story is just too lifeless. If you graphed the film’s emotionality it would be a straight line. The characters are also just boring, corporate faith based protagonists with zero dynamic to their personalities.

These movies do tend to poorly portray doubt. The lead never wrestles with or questions his faith (other than a 10 second scene…
