Great cast list with some people early in their careers. I love the atmosphere of this movie with the weather and the euro vibe, and I feel like a lot of the tightly choreographed and up close fight scenes in modern films are products of this. And maybe it's because I just finished watching all the Fast and Furious films, but that car chase in the Mini was so enjoyable.

Cajun Malkovich is the highlight, but the rest is just ok. You know how any time there's a mass shooting or disaster in the news, a bunch of Etsy accounts start producing a slew of "________ Strong" stickers, hats, shirts, and so on? This feels like the movie equivalent.

Throughout this whole film all I could think of was how much this clearly influenced Inherent Vice, which is a movie I thoroughly enjoy and one of my favorite books. They share similar plot lines and locale, the protagonists' mannerisms and speech patterns are the same, even the shot composition is often replicated. I also love when a story location comes alive enough to almost feel like a supporting character (which often leads me to neo-noir films), and this movie does exactly that. And it's fun to see both David Carradine and Arnold in tiny, uncredited cameos.

Let met tell you something. I saw Wiz Khalifa live a couple years ago, and towards the end of his set he did this tribute song with like powerpoint slides of Paul Walker up on the screen. My friends and I laughed at first thinking it was kind of ironic I guess, but no it really ended up being a whole contrived presentation about celebrities who died recently lmao. That will always be how I remember that song now.
