The core concept is fun and clearly paved the way for many films that followed. The blend of skepticism and exploration of the occult and supernatural was handled well. However, the pacing felt overly drawn out and sluggish, which was unfortunate given the strong performances and well-placed humor. That said, I can see the appeal, and I did enjoy it—especially the ending.

This is my fourth Sono film, so I had a general idea of what to expect, though I’m not the biggest fan of his eccentric style and approach. That said, this was decent. I enjoyed the beginning, thinking it would be a horror-infused police procedural, but that tone doesn’t last throughout the film. I understand the overarching themes of suicide, media, and workaholism—I just wish there had been more horror.

This is not just a film; it's an epic journey into the heart of science fiction. Director Denis Villeneuve's masterful vision brings Frank Herbert's richly detailed universe to life in breathtaking fashion. From the stunning visuals to the haunting score, every aspect of this film is crafted to perfection. The performances are stellar, with each actor bringing depth and nuance to their roles. As the second part of the Dune saga unfolds, it becomes clear that we are witnessing something…

This is a tough one. The message, cinematography, and soundtrack are great, but my goodness, did it drag. Even though I fully agree with the message, its sloppy and overly pretentious presentation doesn’t give it a pass. It was extremely hard to get into and to get through. Justice Smith certainly tried his best, but he didn’t seem to fit the part. I should have known this wouldn’t be for me, considering how much I disliked Jane's first movie. I loved the underlying message, just not the movie itself.
