This must have been super challenging to shoot but it really paid off to do as much of this practically as they did, because I was immersed the entire time. There are a few of-the-era effects/moments over matte scenes but they do a very good job of keeping you present on a freezing mountain the entire time.
If this had come out 15 years later there would be SO MUCh Evan & Brett Wattpad fanfic.
How did the snakes look worse in this one despite it being seven years after the first one? Oh right, this era is a complete cesspool for craptacular CGI. It's a shame, too, because there actually seemed to be a lot of care put in to some of the set pieces, but they literally made a movie about snakes where the snakes were the least interesting things on screen.
