Everyone laughed at me when I said this film would be a masterpiece after it was announced.
“It’s puss in boots it can’t be that good”
“It’s just going to be a cheap sequel”
“The first one was rubbish anyway”

Well you’re not laughing now are you?!

Feels like the film maxed out its whimsy and visuals stats and forgot about the rest.

    It has Elliott Smith.

Feels like a more realised snow piercer, but I say that in regards to the directorial style rather than comparing the two franchises.

What started off as a typical dystopian film turned into something with some defining character. I love Dystopian stuff anyway so I was easily entertained, I just wish the world building around life on the train was shown to us in more depth- where do the upper class sleep and eat? etc etc.
As well the camera was extremely shaky in all the fight scenes, and I’m a big shaky cam hater I can’t lie.

Despite all that it’s got some real emotion and memorable moments. A great way of branching out for all Thomas the Tank Engine fans.

Addressing the elephant in the room. Yes the dialogue is cringe and Colleen Hoover is a very controversial figure, but I’m not here to discuss the ethics surrounding an artist and their subsequent art. Instead I wanted to focus on the impact this film could have.

Now you can call it cringe or stupid but this film will be watched by a lot of younger people, and instead of other popular films for younger demographics preaching an extremely weak message…
