  The film gave a unique twist to the idea of Barbie. I appreciated the relationship of the mother instead of child attachment to Barbie as it allows the story to develop what it means to be a woman in a patriarchal society from an adults perspective. The addition of Ken receiving his own story added to the layers of the film. It allowed the story to highlight the issues with both a patriarchal AND matriarchal society to highlight the benefits…
