Now THIS is how you restart a series!

I grew up watching the planet of the apes trilogy and absolutely loved them. When they came to an end, I was sad to see the story finish, but I loved how they ended it off. I didn’t see how they could introduce another storyline in any capacity.

I never review stuff anymore but this was so good. The story kept you gripped for the entire runtime. The cinematography was great, the story was even better. You felt happy with the characters, you cried with the characters. I love all the foreshadowing that you don’t even realize you’re being fed until the very end of the final episode. It’s like you finish the series, covered in your own tears may I add, and then all of a sudden a whole puzzle clicks together. So so good!

So I’m moving overseas in 17 days and about 3 days ago my dad found out I had never seen this. He claimed it was a “terrible classic” and today made me sit down and watch it with the whole family. I am so ashamed that literally anyone in my family, let alone all of them, view this as a good movie.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie that managed to be racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, and this…
