The documentary frames Stephen as having sacrificed himself for Alessia. Because of this narrative, the documentary sacrifices Alessia's story to tell Stephen's.
It is unclear until the end that Alessia was alive, so the viewer is unable to hear Alessia's point of view throughout the film for the sake of an insensitive narrative device.
ALSO by framing Stephen as the hero and Alessia as someone in need of saving, the documentary downplays her achievements and skill.
