Not as good as the first two but still a fun, charming, and wholesome adventure. Lots of heart.

Good. Comes off as a bit try hard at times. Great cinematography. Good (over?)acting. Weak vampire design. I wished Eggers would have adapted the novel Dracula, rather than the silent film version of it, because the novel has a better overall story. The silent film is great, especially for the limitations of that time, but why not just go directly to the source material now? I personally prefer fleshed out narratives, world-building, and compelling characters over 'vibes'. This goes more for vibes. Though admittedly is good at it.

Immersive and ambitious, it does capture the tone of the Dune novel, even if it plays fast and loose with certain characters and events.
A bit clinically executed for my taste, and not convinced Villeneuve's minimalist aesthetic when it comes to Science Fiction is overly suited to the material, plus he seems afraid to fully embrace the weirder and more esoteric elements of the story, but I get that it's got to be a crowd pleasing blockbuster at the end of the day and I don't begrudge it that.
Overall a very good movie and a solid adaptation of the 2nd half the book.

Yikes even the hardcore Snyder fans are going to have a tough time defending this crap. Visually ugly to look at, terrible writing and characterization, completely derivative to other better works, and overall just a 2.5 hour movie trailer for its sequel.
