Universal Language 2024
it’s a great day to be bilingual bc those jokes are funnier in farsi (the title actually translates to “turkey’s song”. despite being in a surrealist made up 80s iranian winnipeg setting, it carried a lot of nostalgia for me. especially the scene w the steamed beets…oh how i miss those juicy beets. the plot was snoozy but i didn’t mind it much, i was there for the ride. also beautiful shots (is brutalism architecture the it girl rn or what???)

Ratatouille 2007
yup this is pixar’s finest work. so impressive that a rat can evoke so much emotion in me. this rewatch was particularly special bc i got to watch it with my two most respected cinephiles who had never watched it before (wtf) and pop their ratatouille cherry!! they, of course, loved it and i was very happy.
