Definitely missing Boyle's direction and nothing can match the "underground" and secret feeling of 28 Days Later. But this still rips as a horror zombie movie. The scene in the containment room might be one of the most disturbing things I've watched.

The French Connection 1971
Classic 70's movie, dirty as hell, amazing locations. The car chase is absolutely amazing, so loud and fast.
But most importantly RIP to Gene Hackman. While Popeye might be one of the worst cop characters ever, he gave a hell of a performance.

The Brutalist 2024
I actually really enjoyed the 2 part framing, the first half with the optimistic ideal American Dream story, and the second with the pessimistic, what i see as more realistic story. Obviously because I'm a sicko I enjoyed the second half more! Oh well. But then the Epilogue. Corbet spoke in an interview about the difference between history and truth, and I think that's what the epilogue really speaks to, and for better or worse reframes what we've just spent 3 hours watching.
