  It’s wonderful that this has been reappraised over the years as it’s a great example of modern psychosexual neo-noir and I can’t think of many films in the last 20 years quite like this one.   2049 doesn’t compare to this at all. It’s a great sequel but I’ve never felt the need to go back to it since first seeing it in the cinema like I have with this one. Every time I see Blade Runner it just seems to get better.
