Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

    ★★★★

New favourite superhero movie. So much fun watching this with my 7 year old sister. She made sure I didn’t miss anything and helpfully told me about funny bits that were coming up.
But it was genuinely so cool for her to share this movie with me. These comic books blew my mind when I was 7. It was the first time I’d read something that broke the 4th wall! Reading about two kids who created their own comics inspired me to make my own.

    Mr. Deeds

I love this dumb movie. It’s not good but I laughed a lot.
Adam Sandler shows all the serious adults how to have fun. He gets them to live a little! And those that oppose him are shamed and condemned,
The twists to get to that happy ending were crazy.

AHH THAT SCENE IN THE BAR where he quotes the fucking page number??? That’s such an imaginary fight. Like something you make up…

Put the biopics away and bring music documentaries back!! Let the person speak for themselves!

I didn't know anything about Little Richard going into this. But I was hooked when I read that The Beatles, Elvis Presley, AC/DC, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix all cite Little Richard as an inspiration. This film turned me into a Little Richard fan.

I loved how honest this was. His contradictions weren’t hidden but accepted and embraced. It allowed for a more empathetic understanding…
