  oddly tender for a movie with violence so integral to its design.....or maybe that's why. very very interesting & insightful exploration of discrimination against korean ppl in japan, national identity, and power dynamics within families. the opening sequence is so fucking WEIRD its so Good. the choppy cuts that don't make sense? sped up shots when they're running and peculiar angles. so so strange. i like the way the whole thing is chopped up though; the chronology was genuinely very hard…
